This bachelor's degree provides three years of preparation for you to embark upon a career in the world of visual communication. The course exposes you to a broad range of concepts and practices related to artistic direction, design, advertising and production. The tutors on the course are experienced industry experts, adding an authenticity to the content delivered. You become part of the broader culture of design-based learning here at LCCA, but you will also be equipped with the skills to transform creative ideas into viable business propositions.

The programme also stands out because of the three Year 3 specialisms on offer: choose between Packaging, Photography or Digital Design for your main focus.

LCCA also host guest speakers from the graphic design sector and advertising agencies to speak to you about their experiences. We engage regularly in exchange of ideas, research and contacts with our partners Mod-Art and Maryse Eloy. You will be taught to engage with the rapidly evolving market of digital design and visual communication on a local, national and global scale, in line with the demands of a fast-expanding industry.
The programme is complimented by visits to studio's, agencies and industry practitioners as well as attendance to Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions. The school takes part in international competitions, submits tenders and collaborates with companies thus allowing individual students or whole classes to take part in external professional offers and live projects which are always stimulating during their training period.
Methodology
The course is taught using a combination of lectures and seminars as well as practical workshops and internships. You will be assessed through a combination of reports, oral presentations, visual portfolio work and personal projects. You will also be encouraged to develop creative and business skills according to the preferred area of the industry you would like to move towards, professionally. You will also attend field trips to museums and industry exhibitions to explore the world of modern design.

YEAR TWO
The second year of the programme brings with it a great deal of progression in comparison with the first year. You will continue with lectures, tutorials and workshops in an array of different fields. Progression to the third year will depend on a presentation of the second year’s work and a personal project to be assessed by the school’s academic panel along with an 8 to 12 week internship in an agency. You will present work carried out at the agency and complete final written report.

YEAR THREE
The third year of the programme prepares you for your role as a future artistic director, with emphasis on a major subject of your choice: packaging design, photography or digital design. Visual identity and motion design become an important feature, as well as software such as Dreamweaver and other mixed-media tools. You will be required to produce a large-scale personal project that will be validated by a professional jury and assessed by the schools artistic and academic panels.
